Port Clinton, Lake Erie & Fishing

Port Clinton is located in Ottawa county Ohio. The city is situated along the Portage river which feeds into Lake Erie. It is 44 miles east of Toledo Ohio.

The latitude and longitude numbers are 41 3035 N 82 5625 W.

The city has a total of 2.28 square miles. Port Clinton was established in 1828 and named after DeWitt Clinton.

In any given year there a approximately 6,500 local residents in the community. 

Port Clinton has long been known as “the walleye capital of the world “. This moniker was given due to the many fisherman that decend on it for the bountiful walleye fishing seasons.

The walleye are more abundant in this area of Lake Erie the anywhere in the world.

It is a tourist town loaded with restaurants, hotels, stores, and lots of charter boats.

Cedar point amusement park is a nearby and concidered one of the largest attraction in the area for the entire family.
